About Ayden Recreation
 

Ayden Arts and Recreation offices is located in the former Ayden High School at 4354 Lee Street. The Department is lead by Tommy Duncan, Arts and Recreation Director. Athletic Programs are planned and lead by Stephanie Hayes, Athletic Programs Supervisor and Terry Blount, Athletic Programs Assistant.

Youth Baseball:

Girls Softball:

Cost - $20 (Ayden Resident); $30 (all others)

Ages - 6 to 15 years old

Youth Summer Basketball:

 

Cost - $20 (Ayden Resident); $30 (all others)

Ages - 4 to 6 years old

Registration - TBA; Arts and Recreation Community Center

Description - A great way to get kids involved and pass those long summer days. The league is open to both boys and girls.

 


Youth Summer Day Camp:

 

Cost - $25 per week (rates subject to change)

Ages - 6 to 12 years old

Girls Softball Camp:

Summer Adventure Camp:

Cost - $30 (Ayden Resident); $40 (all others)

Summer Drama Camp:

Cost - $25 (Ayden Resident); $35 (all others)

Youth Tackle Football:

 

Cost - $25 (Ayden Residents); $50 (all others)

Ages - 8 to 12 years old

Registration - TBA; Arts and Recreation Community Center

Weight Limits - a minimum weight of 65lbs will be implied for all ages 9 to 12. Age 8 must weigh 80lbs to participate. There will be a maximum weight of 150lbs for ages 8 to 10 and 140lbs for ages 11 and 12. Players weighing 136lbs to150lbs will be required to play offensive and defensive line. Player weighing 150lbs and up will be required to play offense.

 

Youth Flag Football:

 

Cost - $20 (Ayden Residents); $40 (all others)

Ages - 5 to 9 years old; There will be a 5 to 6 year old league and a 7 to 9 year old league.

Community Center Classes
 

Ladies Aerobics: meets Tuesday and Thursday in the Activity Room from 6-7p.m. The class is instructed by Gail Smithson.  Cost is $15 per month or $2 per class.

 

Senior Aerobics: meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in Activity Room from 10:30a.m. to 11:30a.m.  The class is hosted by Pitt Community Schools. There are no fees to participate.

 

Senior Exercise Class: meetings Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in the exercise room from 9:30a.m. to 10:30a.m.  The class is supervised by Margaret Butler.  There is no cost to participate.

 

Weaving: Wednesday's from 9:00am to 12:00pm. The class is taught by Catherine Billingsley. There is a $55 per quarter fee to participate.

 

Adult Ceramics: Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 6pm to 8pm. The class is a 6 week session.  The cost is $15 for Ayden Residents and $25 for non-Ayden residents and the cost of materials.  The class is taught by Robin Whitten.

Painting: Tuesdays from 6pm to 8pm.  The class is a 6 week session.  The cost is $15 for Ayden Residents and $25 for non-Ayden residents and the cost of materials.  The class is taught by Robin Whitten.

Session Two - July 24th to August 28th
Session Three - September 4th to October 9th

Session Four - October 16th to November 27th

Session Five - December 4th to January 22nd
Session Six - January 29th to March 5th
Session Seven - March 12th to April 16th

Session Nine - June 4th to July 16th

Youth Art Classes: Monday and Tuesday from 6pm to 7:30pm. The class is an 8 week session. The cost is $15 for Ayden Residents and $25 for non-Ayden Residents and the cost of materials.
 

Karate Class: Mondays and Wednesdays from 6pm to 8pm. The cost is $20 per month for ages 3 to 7 and $25 per month for ages 8 and up. The class is instructed by Sensei Tim Garris. For more information, please contact Sensei Garris at (252) 902-7021.
