The Ayden Planning Department is responsible for administering land use regulations throughout the town's extra-territorial jurisdiction. Stephen Smith is the town's Planning Director. All zoning or development inquiries should be addressed to Stephen's assistant, Kimberly Raynor.

Our Main Street Committee meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month at Gwendy's Goodies, 514 Second St. The committee members are comprised of local citizens and business owners who are invested in the revitalization of Downtown Ayden. From these meetings was birthed recent events such as the King's of Q BBQ Cookoff and Festival and Sounds in the Town. If you have enjoyed these events we challange you to become on of us. These meetings are open to the public and we welcome anyone that would like to participate.
