Town Seeking Applications for Comp Plan Steering Committee

Interested in serving?

The Town of Ayden is currently seeking individuals interested in serving on the Town’s Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee. This Committee will lead the Town’s efforts to develop a new Comprehensive Plan. A Comprehensive Plan is a document that provides the long-term vision for how a community will grow and operate. It is used by citizens, businesses, elected officials, town staff and visitors of our community alike. Typically, a Comprehensive Plan:
  1. Brings together all planning functions (e.g., housing, land use, transportation, physical environment, public infrastructure, community facilities, etc.);
  2. Plans for the entire geographical and political jurisdiction; and
  3. Includes a long-range time perspective (e.g., 15-20 years into the future).
It is the goal of the Ayden Board of Commissioners to have the comprehensive planning effort led by a Steering Committee who’s composition is representative of the community’s diversity of people and interests. As such, anyone that is interested in serving is encouraged to complete and submit an application. If you are interested in serving on the Town’s Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee, you can obtain an application by:

  1. E-mailing a request to Assistant Town Manager Chris Padgett; or
  2. Accessing the Application on the Town’s Website at www.ayden.com; or
  3. Picking-up a copy at the Town Planning Department located in the Town Operations Center (4061 East Avenue).
