4 into 2 Transition
editNotice to Town of Ayden Utility Customers
On December 9, 2024, the Town of Ayden Board of Commissioners approved transitioning from four utility billing cycles to two billing cycles. This change is part of our ongoing efforts to simplify the billing process, improve efficiency, save money and enhance the services we provide to our residents.
The transition will begin in early 2025 and is expected to take several months. During this time:
- Please continue making your utility payments as usual.
- You may notice one or two utility bills that are slightly higher or lower than normal due to adjusted service dates.
- No penalties will be applied during the transition period. However, we encourage you to make at least your usual monthly payment, or you may choose to pay extra to avoid larger bills later.
Once the transition is complete, this streamlined billing system will offer several benefits to our residents:
- Improved Customer Support: With fewer billing cycles, our Billing Department will have more time to analyze usage trends and proactively communicate with customers about unusual usage patterns or concerns.
- Enhanced Accuracy: The combination of the Tyler system and AMI meters enables us to provide more precise and timely billing information, reducing discrepancies and improving transparency.
- Faster Issue Resolution: Additional time will allow staff to address customer inquiries and resolve billing issues more efficiently.
- Broader Cross-Training: Staff will have the opportunity to cross-train in other areas, ensuring better service continuity and a more knowledgeable team to assist residents.
- Increased Focus on Community Needs: With a more streamlined process, staff will have time to dedicate to community-focused initiatives and improvements.
We sincerely care about helping Ayden residents and ensuring this transition is as smooth as possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We are here to assist you every step of the way.
To keep you informed, we will contact you only by phone or text. Please make sure your contact information is up to date, so you don’t miss any important updates. You can email billing@ayden.com or call us at 252-481-5817.
As part of this transition, special due dates will be dissolved. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to make these improvements to better serve you.
Sincerely,
Marsha Hall
